Mt. Bachelor is located on national forest property, so you have access to free cross country skiing around the mountain. There are even some connecting trails between the public and commercial ski areas.

The Deschutes National Forest actually has five individual cross country ski areas in the vicinity of Mt Bachelor. The mountain features 3,365 vertical feet of the best skiing in the Northwest.
